Extra Info for Teachers/Group Leaders
Apply for your participants as a group for a greater chance at getting everyone admitted during the selection process. Also, please help them prepare for camp by practicing the repertoire together.
UPPER INTERMEDIATE ORCHESTRA is mainly for youth in junior high. The track suits those who are starting to become a bit more comfortable with their instrument. You are looking to evolve further and enjoy playing in an orchestra.
Participants
Age: ca 12–16 years
Instrument experience: 4–6 years
Orchestra experience: Good
Participation fee: 500 SEK/participant
Preparations:
Participants should be well rehearsed on the sheet music at camp start

Conductor
Ron Davis Alvarez
Ron started as one of El Sistema's violinists in his home country of Venezuela. Today, he is a household name in musical learning and travels around the world as a conductor and ambassador for El Sistema. In 2017 he was nominated for the prestigious Global Teacher Prize. Ron is the mastermind behind the Dream Orchestra project and one of Side by Side's artistic advisers. In 2020 he was awarded Göran Lagervalls pedagogstipendium by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music.
